Carter Notch Hut trip
Continuing in the tradition of our annual Thanksgiving Weekend White Mountain backpacking trips, this year we head to the Carter Notch Hut. AMC considers it their best kept secret. Carter Notch Hut surprises most with its intimate and unimaginably beautiful setting. Hike 3.8 miles to reach this hut and encounter a world of rock jumbles, towering cliffs, and tranquil mountain lakes. This eastern anchor of AMC’s hut system was built in 1914, and after 100 years, continues to lure those in search of quieter trails and unforgettable summits. We'll summit Carter Dome (elevation 4,832 ft) and have the opportunity to climb other 4000 footers depending on the conditions.

NOTE: This trip will be somewhat demanding. Previous experience backpacking (with the troop or otherwise) is required. Talk to Mr. LaRowe if you have any questions.
