December 2019

Meetings

We used our troop meetings to plan the Court of Honor on 12/18 and Jaret came up with an idea to add a Yankee swap for this year. We also talked about Klondike and the Ski trip for upcoming trips

Court of Honor

At the December Court of Honor, Ben Settle was recognized for his Eagle Rank. Caeden earned his Tenderfoot rank, Nitin earned a rank and other scouts were rewarded for earning badges! I was the only one that earned merit badges, they were still there from Squanto in the summer. We celebrated by eating snacks and we had a Yankee Swap. I got my favorite chocolate bar (cookies and cream). The most popular gift was a tube â…” of the way filled with these smarties type things, that Chuckie won!

Trips:

On December 7, we went on a backpacking/hiking/cooking trip to the Blackstone River and Canal state park in Uxbridge, MA. We thought about dietary restrictions and changed our meal plans to accommodate everyone. We cooked and then hiked 3 miles!

I learned a lot about the vegan diet when I was researching what to prepare. I made oatmeal with raisins, freeze-dried Louisiana Red beans and rice, Abhiram made pancakes and Caeden made oatmeal like me, and then made mac and cheese.
