Troop 99 traveled to Moose Meadow Campground in September, and visited the ropes course at Storrs Adventure Park in Connecticut. 6 Scouts and 3 Old Goats made the trip, and had a great time! The ropes course had many challenges, including ladders, rope bridges, and zip lines. There were several different courses, and the scouts pushed themselves to try the more difficult ones as the day went on.
Back at the campground, the Scouts used the Philmont method of cooking to prepare mac and cheese. Afterward, everyone gathered around the campfire to talk about the day and share each person's "rose," or best moment, and "thorn," or the moment that was the most frustrating.
Overall, the weather was great, and the weekend was challenging, but a lot of fun for everyone.
