Troop Meetings

Although we didn't have any Troop meetings where the entire Troop was there, we had our first Patrol meetings in a long time in October. We discussed potential trips we could do even with the social distancing. We thought of biking trips, skiing trips, distanced hiking trips and more. We also brainstormed some ways new ways to communicate that could make our troop communication more efficient. We also talked about restarting the Troop involvement in the Order of the Arrow.

Advancement:

The Troop is planning a Court of Honor in November to give out all of the awards earned in the last year. Due to Covid-19, we have not had a COH since the end of 2019. Thanks to our Troop leaders, during the time we could not meet in person, we were able to work on Merit Badges electronically that we had started at MBU before it got cancelled. Also, some scouts started working on new badges that the Leaders set up for us.

There were also a number of Scouts that we able to advance in Rank during the summer as well. Great Job everyone!

Community Service:

The Troop is planning to perform our bi-yearly community service at the Rod and Gun Club in Franklin, MA where we hold our Troop meetings as a way to give back to the club. The Rod and Gun club allows us to use their building for Troop, Patrol , and Leader meetings. We normally rake the back yard, side yard and down by the waterfront. This year we will wear masks and split up so that we are socially distancing and not everyone is raking at the same time.

Eagle Projects:

Alex held held a bike collection for Bikes not Bombs on October 24th. Alex collected over 125 bikes and nearly $1000 for the charity! Way to go Alex!
